Emir Vela
Full professor of Energy and Mechanical Engineering Department. Dr. Vela received his doctorate degree in Mechanical Science and Robotics from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (present Sorbonne Université), Paris, France; scholarship from Commissariat à l’Énergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives - CEA, France. He earned his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in MicroEngineering with emphasis in Micro/Nano systems from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne - EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland. He was former Full Professor and Chair of Engineering Department in the Faculty of Science and Philosophy at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. His research expertise and interests are in the field of rehabilitation robotics, soft robotics for medical applications, microrobotics, design of sensors and actuators. Dr. Vela serves as reviewer of journals and international conferences in those fields.
