Is an engineer by profession with over 38 years of experience in the areas of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy engineering, research, teaching and business consulting. He is author and co-author of over 200 scientific articles and presentations, and holds 8 patents. Up to now, he has been the recipient of such awards as the George S. Ansell Chair and was named Distinguished Professor of Chemical Metallurgy at the Colorado School of Mines. He has performed as expert consultant to more than 20 companies around the world. He works as director of the Kroll Institute for Extractive Metallurgy.
